A partnership, not a project

Dog Friendly Co is an Australian pet accessories brand. Harnesses, leashes, collars, beds, and toys: made with quality materials and a genuine love for dogs. When Dog Friendly Co partnered with us in March 2024, the brand had no Amazon presence. No listings, no ads and no US footprint.

Within two years, Dog Friendly Co was selling across four marketplaces, running a domestic US fulfilment operation, managing electronic data interchange (EDI) integrations with two major US pet retailers. Amazon AU featured them on their official seller stories page. That kind of recognition doesn't come from good ads alone.

THE MULTI CHANNEL EXPANSION

Mar 2024

Amazon AU launched from scratch

Full catalogue built: listings, variations, A+ content, brand store. Ads live from day one. Within three months, the Dog Harness hit #3 in its category. The AU account reached profitability by the end of 2024.

Oct 2024

Amazon US launched

Full fulfilled-by-merchant (FBM) setup via a domestic US third-party logistics partner (3PL), running alongside FBA. Entire US catalogue, content, and ad structure built before a single dollar of ad spend.

Mid 2024–25

Chewy catalogue preparation

Six months of groundwork: hundreds of SKUs, EDI integration, fulfilment logistics setup. December 16, 2025: first orders ship. See the Chewy case study for the full story.

Feb 2026

Petco launched

A third US pet retail channel, live within 18 months of the brand’s first Amazon listing. First meaningful revenue in the same month.

Walmart

Tested, then turned off

Ran a trial, assessed the results, made the call it wasn’t working. Not every channel is the right channel and knowing when to stop is part of the job.

THE OPERATIONAL BACKBONE

3PL coordination

A domestic US fulfilment operation handles Amazon FBM, Chewy dropship orders, and Petco fulfilment. Daily inventory checks, late shipment rate monitoring, and urgent order escalation, all managed by Noria as the operational link between Dog Friendly Co and their fulfilment partner.

EDI and systems integration

DSCO/DScopify for Chewy order sync. SPS Commerce for Petco. Shopify inventory synced across multiple stores. Getting this right is the difference between a channel that scales and one that creates problems.

Catalogue management

Hundreds of SKUs across four channels, each with their own content requirements, variation structures, image specs, and compliance rules. Managed as a continuous programme, not a one-time project. We also worked together on a strategic overhaul in early 2026 to ensure listings are friendly for new-to-brand marketplace customers.

Joint business planning

Annual JBP process: channel targets, inventory forecasts, growth plans for the year ahead. The relationship is a partnership, not a managed service.

Amazon AU selected Dog Friendly Co for their official seller stories programme, a feature reserved for brands demonstrating exceptional growth and customer experience on the platform.

Zero Amazon presence in March 2024. Four channels, a domestic US fulfilment operation, and two EDI integrations. That’s not the result of one good decision.
